Frequently Asked Questions

The Santé team compiles the most common questions from patients — so you can feel confident before visiting our clinic.

General Examination & Treatment

At Santé, all treatment procedures utilize gentle anesthesia techniques and medically-standardized desensitization technology. The doctors perform the procedures gently and smoothly, ensuring you feel completely comfortable and at ease throughout the process.

In the first 24-48 hours, patients should consume soft, liquid, and cool foods (such as porridge or soup). From the third day onwards, once the wound has closed and swelling has reduced, normal chewing can resume, but it's advisable to avoid chewing directly on the extraction site.

Composite material has a slight porosity, so after a few years of use, it may become stained by food (especially in individuals who smoke, drink tea, or coffee frequently). Clients can replace the filling when its aesthetics diminish.

This is a gentle dental technique, primarily performed on the enamel layer, so it usually does not cause sensitivity. If the cavity is too large and close to the pulp chamber, the dentist will apply and inject anesthesia before cleaning the lesion.

Depending on the tooth's location and the extent of inflammation, a root canal treatment can be completed in a single appointment (approximately 45-60 minutes) or divided into 2-3 appointments (for teeth with multiple canals, necrotic pulp, or abscesses that require medication monitoring).

Currently, Santé does not accept health insurance (BHYT). However, Santé offers 0% interest installment plans through credit cards and collaborates with several financial institutions for major services such as Implants and orthodontics.

You can absolutely reschedule or cancel your appointment. Santé kindly requests that you notify us at least 2 hours in advance so we can accommodate other patients. Please contact us via hotline or Zalo for the quickest assistance.

Dental Implants

The placement of an implant post takes only about 15–20 minutes per post. The osseointegration period ranges from 6–12 weeks before the final porcelain crown is attached. At Santé, the implant posts used are genuine imports from Switzerland/South Korea and come with an official warranty ranging from 10–20 years or lifetime.

The implant procedure is supported by a modern anesthesia system, ensuring you do not feel pain throughout the process. After the implant, the gums may swell slightly and feel dull for the first 2-3 days, which is completely normal and can be well-managed with pain relief medication prescribed by the doctor.

The implant post made from biologically pure titanium will integrate directly into the jawbone, acting like a real tooth root and can last a lifetime if you maintain good oral hygiene and attend regular check-ups as scheduled by your dentist.

If diabetes and high blood pressure are well-controlled (within safe limits), dental implants are usually possible. The dentist will require tests and coordinate with your internist before the surgery. Some specific systemic conditions may require further evaluation.

Implant prices depend on factors such as the origin and brand of the implant (Korean, Swiss, Italian, German), the type of porcelain crown, the surgical method, and additional services (CT scan, bone grafting, etc.). Santé transparently discloses all costs in the treatment contract, with no additional charges.

Porcelain & Veneers

With the advanced ultra-thin veneer technology at Santé, the dentist only works on an extremely thin surface (0.2 - 0.5mm) or does not grind the teeth at all. Premium genuine porcelain is crafted to fit perfectly, preventing gum margin gaps, bad breath, or food accumulation.

The process of tooth preparation is performed under local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during the procedure. After the anesthesia wears off, you may experience slight sensitivity for 1–2 days, especially with teeth that still have pulp. Santé uses technology to reduce sensitivity and optimal anesthesia techniques to minimize discomfort.

Emax porcelain (Lithium Disilicate) offers a more natural translucency, making it suitable for front teeth that require high aesthetics, but it has moderate durability. Zirconia porcelain is harder and more durable, suitable for molars that endure heavy chewing forces or for patients with a habit of grinding their teeth. The dentist will advise on the appropriate type of porcelain for each tooth position.

It depends on the type of porcelain: metal-ceramic 1–3 years, Zirconia 7–10 years, Lava/Emax 10–15 years. With good oral hygiene, many porcelain teeth can last beyond the warranty period. You should have regular check-ups every 6 months for the dentist to assess their condition.

Veneers only require minimal enamel reduction on the outer surface of the tooth (approximately 0.3–0.5mm), which is much less invasive compared to full crowns. In certain cases, No-prep Veneers can be applied if the dental condition allows.

Braces & Orthodontics

Yes. Santé offers a flexible 0% interest installment policy through partner banks, allowing payment in stages throughout the treatment, making it easier for customers to access high-quality dental services.

Children can begin orthodontic intervention as early as 7–9 years old (during the bone adjustment phase). Comprehensive orthodontic treatment typically starts from 12–14 years old when permanent teeth have fully erupted. Adults can also get braces — there is no maximum age limit, as long as bone and gum health are stable.

Invisalign uses removable clear aligners that do not affect aesthetics and are easier to clean. However, their effectiveness depends on wearing them for 22 hours a day. Traditional braces work continuously and provide better force control for complex misalignments. The dentist will recommend the appropriate method after an examination.

After orthodontic treatment, teeth tend to slightly shift back to their original position if retainers are not worn. Santé recommends wearing retainers at night for at least 1–2 years after braces are removed, ideally maintaining them long-term. This is a crucial step to preserve treatment results.

With fixed braces: avoid hard, chewy, sticky foods (gum, sugarcane, ice cubes) to prevent bracket detachment. With Invisalign: no food restrictions as the aligners are removed when eating. After tightening the wires (braces), there is usually soreness for 2–3 days — it's advisable to eat soft foods during this period.

Cosmetic Dentistry

In-office whitening uses an appropriate and controlled concentration of hydrogen peroxide, making it safe when performed according to instructions. There may be transient sensitivity for 24–48 hours, which completely subsides. It is not recommended to whiten teeth too frequently (advised maximum is once a year) and avoid using unverified whitening products at home.

Smile Design is a process that analyzes the golden ratio of teeth, lips, and face, then optimizes the dental structure using 3D software. The dentist creates a mock-up so you can see the results before starting. It is suitable for anyone looking to completely transform their smile.

The cost depends on the number of teeth needing treatment and the type of porcelain chosen. A Smile Makeover with 10 Emax porcelain teeth can range from 70–100 million VND. Santé provides a detailed treatment plan and clear pricing before starting — no additional charges beyond the contract.

Pediatric Dentistry

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children have their first dental visit when their first tooth appears or by their first birthday. In Vietnam, many parents take their children for the first time when they notice cavities — in fact, it's better to have an early check-up for prevention and to receive guidance on proper dental care.

It is necessary to fill even baby teeth, as severe cavities can affect the underlying permanent tooth buds and cause pain, impacting eating and development. Baby teeth also maintain space for permanent teeth to grow in the correct position.

The Santé team is trained in skills to familiarize children before starting any procedures. The clinic is designed to be child-friendly, and the dentist explains each step in a language that children can understand. Parents are allowed to stay with their child throughout the process. It is encouraged to bring children for early visits before any issues arise so they can become accustomed to the environment.
